Welcome to Financial Excellence
The Swiss financial centre is synonymous the world over with security, stability and
reliability and its history is characterised by excellent service quality, first-rate
advisory services, an international focus and a traditional culture of discretion. The
financial sector is further distinguished by its innovation and wide range of products and
services. In recent years these traditional strengths have been enhanced by the systematic
expansion of a technological infrastructure which has become a key competitive factor in
the globalised world of finance.
European economic and monetary union has been a reality since the start of 1999. The Swiss
international financial centre was quick to adjust to the new situation in Europe and is
now euro-compatible in every respect.
"Swiss Plus - Financial Excellence" was set up in 1999 to present the strengths
of the Swiss financial centre - old and new - and to communicate them throughout the
world. Swiss Plus is supported by the Swiss Bankers Association and the utility
infrastructure providers SWX Swiss Exchange, SIS SegaInterSettle AG and
Telekurs Group, which have joined forces to strive for "Financial Excellence".
The Swiss Bankers Association has successfully organised events under the Swiss Plus
banner in the main European financial centres. High-level representatives of the Swiss
government and the Swiss National Bank as well as management figures from a number of
banks and other financial institutions have helped to create an informative programme of
speeches, panel discussions and workshops.
